I'm sure your Flat Students are having the time of their lives at their destinations! Please return them to school as soon as they arrive home. We would like for all Flat Students to be returned to school by April 18th. We will share their adventures with the class, and display any photos, letters, or souvenirs that they come home with at Open House on May 8th. I can't wait to see what our Flat Students have been up to!
We need three photos of your child at different stages in their life (infant, toddler, first grader) for a timeline project we are working on in class. Please submit photos by Monday, April 14th. Please note that photos must be no larger than 4x6 and will be cut and glued to a mat. All photos will be displayed at Open House.
If you want to get a head start on an upcoming homework project, students will be making a mobile at home that represents themselves. It can be about their favorite things, their family, their hobbies... whatever captures "them" at this moment in time. Mobiles will be presented for Oral Language and Art grades, and then displayed at Open House. Mobiles will be hanging from the ceiling, so please keep them lightweight, and please...use yarn or string to hang your objects. DO NOT USE THREAD OR FISHING LINE (it always gets tangled by the time the kids get to school). More information will come home when we come back, but if you'd like, you can get a head start over our break (Projects are due Monday, April 21st). Feel free to email me if you have any questions or need suggestions: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! It has truly been my pleasure to have your child in my class. This has been a great year, and I will miss your child tremendously as they head off to 2nd grade. This final day will be a Minimum Day, with dismissal at 11:35 am. Report cards will be sent home with your child on this day. Thank you so much for your support! Enjoy your summer!
Sign up for free text message or email reminders from Mrs. Raynes! Never miss another important event again! Simply text @mrsraynes to (657) 212-4385 (a third-party number). This is a one-way communication from me to you only. Neither your phone number nor my phone number will ever be revealed to anyone.
Foothill Elementary has several students with moderate to severe food allergies. Effective immediately, treats will not be allowed to be brought to school for birthday celebrations. If you wish to bring something to share with the class to celebrate your child's birthday, please consider non-food items such as pencils, stickers, or small toys. Also, if you donate a book to our library, your child's birthday will be announced during the morning announcements! A book plate will be placed inside the book as well, letting everyone know who donated that book!
Students have the opportunity to run before school, during lunch recess, and during P.E. to reach their goal of 100 miles over the entire school year. Last year, almost every student in Mrs. Raynes' class reached at least 25 miles and earned their 100-Mile t-shirt. Several completed their 100 miles and earned their medals. Your child can, too! It only costs $10 to join.
Foothill is having a school-wide competition to see which class can get the most PTA memberships! Please register yourself and your child (and other family members, friends, neighbors, etc.). Memberships cost $7.00 each, and your child's membership allows them to participate in special events. Attending the meetings is not required, but you are welcome to attend if you wish. Please help our class win!
