ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery)

  • The ASVAB consists of eight individual tests:

    • General Science
    • Arithmetic Reasoning
    • Paragraph Comprehension
    • Word Knowledge
    • Auto & Shop Information
    • Mathematics Knowledge
    • Mechanical Comprehension
    • Electronics Information


    The ASVAB offers:

    • ASVAB is a multiple aptitude test battery
    • Assesses student's ability to learn new skills
    • Is a predictor of success in training and education programs
    • ASVAB Career Exploration Program offers more than just a test
    • Includes an interest inventory
    • Resources designed to help explore careers of interest
    • Similar to college testing & will provide insight to how a student might score on the SAT


    The ASVAB is used by military branches, but students not on a military path also will find this test helpful as they navigate career planning.

     Juniors & seniors interested in taking the ASVAB can see Ms. Roeder n the College & Career Center.  The ASVAB will be offered once per semester.  Students are responsible for making arrangements with teacher(s) for missed work prior to test date.

    ASVAB test dates 

    Fall semester:     November 8, 2017 @ 7:45 am 

    Spring semester:    April 26, 2018 @ 7:45 am (New date)
