    What is WASC?
WASC accredits K-12 schools, not-for-profit, non-degree granting postsecondary institutions. This process is one that school use to monitor student learning and set school improvement goals. It is an ongoing cycle of quality. Schools assess their program and the impact on student learning with respect to the WASC criteria and other accreditation factors. Read More...

What does this mean for Norco High School?
The visiting WASC team members will be coming out February 2017 to visit our campus and validate the information we provide them with regard to our programs, academics, services, staffing, and more.

Why do you have minimum days for this?
Minimum days allows us to close the offices so that clerical, custodial, security guards, instructional aides, counselors, teachers, and administrators can all meet together as a staff to develop the reflection and prepare for the visit.

When are the days involved for WASC?
    • Tuesday, August 30, 2016 @ 1-2:45pm (minimum day for students)
    • Tuesday, September 13, 2016 @ 1-2:45pm (minimum day for students)
    • Monday, September 26, 2016 all day (non-student day)
    • Tuesday, November 15, 2016 @ 1-2:45pm (minimum day for students)
    • Tuesday, December 13, 2016 @ 12-2:45pm (minimum day for final exams)
    • Sunday, February 26, 2017 @ 12-6pm (WASC team arrives)
    • Monday 2/27 - Wednesday 3/1 all day (WASC visit)

    When is the visit?
The WASC visiting team will be here Sunday, February 26, 2017 through Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

What will they do during the school day?
The WASC visiting team will read through our long reflection (five chapters that focus on different aspects of our school, both past and present), as they walk into classrooms and talk to staff and students.

How do you know how you did?
At the end of their stay, the WASC visiting team will meet with the WASC Leadership Team and the Principal to provide their outcome. There are several "ratings" they can provide - "6-Year Clear" and 6-Year with a Mid-Term Review" are the highest ratings.

    How can I get involved?
We are always looking for volunteers! Please email bhurd@cnusd.k12.ca.us if you're interested in attending our staff meeting, the mock visit, and the real visit. Download the Get Involved Flyer for dates and times.
