Welcome to the ERHS Mustang Library!
The Eleanor Roosevelt High School Mustang library is very unique. It is a joint-use facility, housing two libraries in one. In addition to the Mustang Library, the Eastvale Community Library is also located at this site. The Eastvale Community Library is a branch of the Riverside County Public Library system.

What You Can Do in the Library:
The library environment is an atmosphere that is quiet, studious, and academic. Therefore, any activities that interfere with the preservation of this atmosphere cannot be permitted. Students must respect the authority of the public librarians and behave respectfully towards public library patrons. Your good behavior creates a positive impression about you and about our school throughout the community.
Checking Out Books from the Mustang Library:
The books that belong to the ERHS Library are marked with a blue Mustang sticker on the spine of the book. To check out books and use computers that belong to the Mustang Library, all you need is your student identification card. You may check out two books at a time, and keep the books for two weeks. After two weeks, you may renew a book for an additional two weeks. Books may be renewed only once.
Using School Computers:
The school has provided six computers in the computer hallway for student use. To use a school computer, sign up at the circulation desk and leave
your student ID card. When you are finished, sign out and your ID card will be returned to you. Students must have a CNUSD internet permission form signed by a parent or guardian on file in order to use a school computer to access the internet. Use your student ID number as your “logon ID” and your internet password as your “password.” If you do not know your internet password, the Teacher Librarian will be happy to reset it for you. School computers are available for use by students between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. every regular schedule school day, and between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on minimum days.
In addition to the computers available in the computer hallway, the Mustang Library features a Computer Lab which contains 43 networked computers. The Computer Lab can be reserved by classroom teachers who wish to bring their entire class to the library to work.
Printing and Photocopying:
You can print your assignments, essays, and other documents from the computer stations. The cost is 10 cents per page. Also available is a photocopier in the Reading Room. The cost is 10 cents per page. All printing is in black and white; there are no color printers in the school library.
Resources Available with a Public Library Card:
The Riverside County Library System offers nearly 3 million items in 37 branch libraries in Riverside County. These items include books, magazines, DVDs, large print books, audio books, and downloadable audio books. Once you have a Riverside County library card, you can request materials to be sent to the ERHS campus from any of these branches. Allow three to five days for these items to arrive. When you are finished with these materials, simply bring them back to the library and they will be returned to their original library branches for you.
The public library provides live reference help from librarians most hours the library is open, and free online tutors that can help you with your homework. These tutors provide services to students in grades K-12 and college intro in subjects such as math, science, reading, writing, social studies, and test preparation. Online tutors are available every day from 1:00 p.m. – 10 p.m. PST.
With a public library card, you can access several databases which can provide a wealth of information to help you write your English, social studies, or science papers. You can access these databases through the main library website, which is http://www.rivlib.net/.
Checking Out Books from the Public Library:
To check out books belonging to the Riverside County Library System, you will need a public library card. An application is available at the circulation desk. Return the completed application with your parent’s signature and show your school ID. The public librarian will give you a public library card. Remember that after you check out books from the public library, if you do not return them on time there will be fines on your account, payable to the public librarian. The ERHS Teacher Librarian is able to assist students and staff in locating materials, ordering materials from other branches, and checking out books from the public library collection, but any other public library business must be conducted during public library hours.
Using Public Library Computers:
The public library offers six computers for use during public library hours. Once you have a public library card, you can use one of these computers, which are located next to the Children’s Reading Room. To use the public computers, use your library card number and pin number, which is usually the last our digits of your telephone number. Printing from a public library computer costs 10 cents per page.
