The course selection process begins with current freshmen, sophomores and juniors. Each grade level attends a presentation where we review CNUSD’s graduation requirements, and post-secondary options and requirements. Students need to sign up for classes online using their Q Student Connect account during the enrollment window. Students then meet individually with their counselor to review their selected courses, discuss academic progress towards graduation and UC/CSU A-G Eligibility Requirements for applying to four year universities.
Each year, Santiago’s Counseling Department hosts the Incoming Freshman Parent Night. Freshman Parent Night is an opportunity for parents and students to receive important information about registering and selecting classes. Counselors visit the local feeder schools (CHIS, ECMS, HGA and CFIS) to meet with incoming freshmen to review the courses they have selected.
