I am so happy to call Rosa Parks Elementary School my home.  I enjoy coming to school each day and sharing my day with the most amazing staff, students, and parents.  As each year passes by, it becomes more difficult to say goodbye to my students as they promote up to the sixth grade because each group of students somehow becomes more and more endearing.  I have been teaching fifth grade at Parks since the school opened and both of my daughters were Parks Knights as well.  My fifth grade team is incredible and I am so fortunate to share my day with them too.  My favorite subject to teach in the classroom is Language Arts and my favorite 5th grade activity is our annual Wax Museum.

I knew at a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher.  My 5th grade teacher used to let me stay after school and ‘play teacher’ in her classroom with my best friend, Laura (Laura is also a teacher today).  I absolutely love being a teacher and I am so happy to still attend school every day.  I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education from California State University, Fullerton, and have taught 5th and 6th grades for 18 years. My husband, Bret, and I have two beautiful daughters.  Haley currently attends Roosevelt High School and McKenna attends Ramirez Intermediate School.  We enjoy camping, swimming, traveling, and SOFTBALL!
