Environmental Science is the study of the interaction between physical, chemical and biological sciences in relation to the environment and the possible solutions of environmental problems. As the world around us grows more complex we must also learn to care for the Earth.
Our students will research in particular how water is handled in California. Soil conservation and air quality will also be part of the yearlong curriculum. They will begin to understand earth processes, evaluating alternative energy systems, and pollution control and mitigation. In addition, the Environmental Science students will be actively involved on Common Ground “The Garden Project”. In this garden laboratory they will put into practice the sustainability concepts we have studied about in class.
The class can be the start of pathway towards a great career in engineering, a health and safety specialist, a wildlife biologist , an aquatic biologist or an ecologist to name a few exciting careers that could open up to the continuing student.
