Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Allison D'Souza and I am excited to be teaching your child this year! While this is only my 2nd year as a regular classroom teacher, I have been working for CNUSD for 6 years. During my time in this district I have worked in the ASES after school program, as an intervention teacher for grades K and 4-6, and as a 6th grade general education teacher. This is my first year having a 5th grade class of my own, but I am no stranger to the grade level! I student taught 5th grade for 8 weeks, as well as taught reading, writing, and math intervention to 5th grade students for two full school years. So I am very familiar with the curriculum. :)
In terms of my educational background, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Child and Adolescent Development in 2012 from Cal State Fullerton, and completed their teacher credentialing program in 2013. In that program I was specially trained in integrating arts into the curriculum, which I try to do whenever possible. Most recently in 2014, I earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I am still learning and growing every day, and I know I am going to learn so much more from your students!
