             First Grade A Track

     Dear Parents,

Welcome to 1st grade and what’s going to be an absolutely fantastic year of learning, life experiences and achievement.  I am looking forward to being here for your child by being their learning advocate for 2017-2018 and meeting all of you at back to school night this Thursday, July 13th .  I will be going over curriculum, class room procedures, and other topics in greater detail.

Your child has brought home some very important paperwork for you to complete! Please return all completed paperwork to school with your child ASAP!!  Thank you!!

Here is some information you may need immediately to make the transition to 1st grade smooth for you and your child!!

    School Schedule and Dismissal

The school day begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 2:10 p.m.  Students should not be on campus until morning supervision starts at 7:30 or they may eat breakfast in the cafeteria which begins at 7:15.  School office hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Every Wednesday is an early release day with dismissal at 1:10!!

** Exceptions are the first week of school, the last week of school and conference week **

** First grade students will be walked from their classroom by me and then dismissed from the double gate area near the bike rack in the front of the school near the end of the traffic circle.  Please inform any older siblings to come to the first grade area to be picked up with their sibling there.

    Supplies

I have attached a list of supplies that are recommended for each child to have at school on a daily basis.

    Classroom Standards

In order to provide my students with the excellent environment they deserve, the following rules have been developed:

*Students will be SAFE* Students will be RESPECTFUL

*Students will follow the PRIDE traits!!

I believe in the power of positive reinforcement so there are many daily chances to receive praise to help foster good self-esteem and promote good behavior.

    Medical Issues

If your child has any medical problems or health issues that you would like me to be aware of (including any food allergies), please write this information on the “Getting to Know You and Your Child” survey.

    Classroom/School Visits

All visitors must sign in at the office at all times of the day in order to be on campus beyond the entrance or gates!!  If you need to contact me to schedule a meeting or discuss something please contact me by email or call the number below.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to call me at (951) 736-7377 or Email= denise.holt@cnusd.k12.ca.us

    Thank you,
