    Mapping Classroom Instruction

Teacher leaders in CNUSD meet annually to draft, update, and refine Curriculum Maps and Curriculum Guides for each grade level and subject area. Curriculum Maps provide a high-level outline of the academic year, including targeted student standards, sequence of units, and other information to guide teachers as they plan out the year. Curriculum Guides  mirror the Curriculum Maps and contain more detailed information including the following key areas:

    • Grade- and subject-level standards students are to master
    • Suggested sequence for teaching content and skills
    • Recommended number of lessons and amount of time for instruction on each standard
    • Available curricular resources for teaching the identified standards
