Classroom Supplies

  • For better organizational skills, and for your child to have the best experience in meeting classroom expectations and completing homework assignments, some supplies will be needed.  I would suggest that each child have the following items at all times for their personal use at school.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. If there are any problems purchasing or acquiring these items, please let me know as soon as possible.

  • - 1 1/2 inch  3 ring binder (the plainer the better)

    - 5 Dividers that do not have any pockets on them labeled: Homework, Unfinished Work, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies (Again, the plainer, the better. Please choose dividers that do not have pockets that the students can use as folders. The goal is to get them to become organized by moving away from shoving papers into a folder.  The simpler the divider, the better it is for your child to stay organized.)

    - 1 pencil pouch or small pencil box

    - 6 college ruled spiral notebooks (the inexpensive ones that contain 70 pages are fine)

    - a checkbook transaction register and checkbook cover (Students are responsible for keeping their classroom cash accounted for at all times. I will be teaching them how to keep their classroom bank accounts balanced during the second week of school.)

    - Lined, 3 hole punched paper

    - a white board marker (preferably not red because red stains the small student whiteboards)

    - a white board eraser or sock

    - highlighters (but markers work just as well)

    - pencils

    - eraser

    - a pen for grading (can be any color, but please no black)

    - colored pencils

    - crayons

    - markers

    - glue sticks (I do keep extra in the classroom, but we go through them pretty quickly!)

    - mini-stapler (This is not mandatory. We have several regular staplers in the classroom, but some students like to be able to quickly staple their items together and not wait to use the staplers in class.)

If possible, have these items at home to use throughout the school year:

o   Pencils, erasers, and a pencil sharpener

o   Pens, colored pencils, crayons, markers

    o   Notebook Paper, construction paper

o   Glue sticks, tape, post it notes

o   Scissors, ruler, stapler, hole punch

    o   Dictionary
