Physical Education Assignment for AbsencesOption 1: If you miss a day of class and have an excused absence you can make up points per day by writing a 1-page summary of an article from a magazine, newspaper, or internet resource relating to a physical education issue: health, fitness, sports, physical therapy, nutrition,etc. and turn in the assignment the following day for credit (include article with summary). You can use one of the physical education resources provided for you on the home page of my website, or you can use your own resource.
If You Miss A Run Day: Download the Strava app on your phone to track your run that you do in your own neighborhood and take a snapshot and send an email of the snapshot to your PE teacher or show your PE teacher the run on your Strava app the next class day. If you don't have the capability to download the app or run in your neighborhood you need to make up the run before or after school with your PE teacher's supervision. Please coordinate the day and time you will make up the run.
Option 2: You may download the Strava app on your phone to track your run that you do in your own neighborhood and send a snapshot of the run as an email to your PE teacher or show the run on your Strava app to your PE teacher the next school day. If you can't run on your own you can coordinate with your PE teacher to run laps on the track before or after school to earn points for absences.(5 points per lap)
Option 3: Download the Strava app and ride a bike for 5+ miles, then take a snapshot and send it as an email to your PE teacher or show your PE teacher the bike ride on the Strava app the next school day
Extended Absences (One week or more):
If you have excused absences for one week or more you need to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day and record the type of activity and length of time you performed that activity for each school day missed. You also need to complete 2 written summaries(explained above).
