Degrees and Certifications:
This course is designed to meet all of the requirements of the Advanced Placement Program. The course will cover atomic structure and the interactions of combining atoms. Also covered will be the areas of stoichiometry, equation balancing, problem solving, the states of matter, oxidation-reduction reactions, periodicity of the elements, bonding, basic organic chemistry, and environmental chemistry and its impact on the ecology. The curriculum is designed to prepare the student for a rigorous exam which may result in the awarding of college credit.
