GATE: Todd Academy
At Todd Academy, we focus on the large scope projects. All of the GATE fourth through sixth graders participate in the school-wide Science Fair (spending at least two months on their projects). These GATE students present their projects at an evening event, Todd Science Fair, for parents.
GATE 6th and 7th graders participate in the school-wide History Day project (spending approx. 3 months on their projects). The sixth through eighth graders present their projects during a National History Day (NHD) culminating evening event for parents. Sixth grade students design project boards, seventh grade students develop websites, and eighth grade students create documentaries.
Additionally, Todd Academy sixth grade GATE students lead the Cultural Universal Project for the school’s Open House.
All GATE students are encouraged to participate in the Reflections Program; however, it is not mandatory.
In addition to the above activities, Todd Elementary enriches GATE students’ curriculum by having guest science experts speak to the fourth through sixth grade students and conduct engaging, fun and exciting hands-on activities.
If you have any questions regarding the program, please contact the principal, Ms. Kris Effinger.
