WELCOME TO THE COMPUTER LAB! |
Hello! My name is Mrs. Mitchell. I’ve been working at During their course of study throughout the grades, students will learn skills that will enable them to effectively use the computer and the Internet. Students will use a variety of software programs that focus on different topics in language arts, math, science, social studies, music, and art. In addition to the Microsoft Office programs students use throughout the year, the lab has a number of educational software programs that students can use to strengthen their language arts skills, math skills, analytical thinking and problem solving skills. Students will be encouraged to try new educational software and create their own products, both at school and at home. Each class gets an assigned time during the week to utilize the Computer Lab. In the lab, students have the opportunity to practice their typing skills, learn word processing and desktop skills, complete spreadsheets, learn file management strategies, create PowerPoint presentations and much more. In addition to learning computer skills that will assist students throughout their school career and life, the lessons taught in the lab reinforce the core curriculum being taught in the classrooms. For example, the students may use Excel to explore and create a graph to meet a grade level standard or they may use MovieMaker to create a movie based on a topic of study in their classroom. Each grade has a different set of technology expectancies and curriculum related projects that all students will actively participate in during the school year. I look forward to working with your children! ![]() |
