CELL PHONE POLICY
Now that your child is getting older, you may be thinking about purchasing, or have already purchased, a cell phone for him/her. The following is the school policy regarding cell phone use:
- Phones are to be turned off during school hours
- Phones are to be kept off the entire school day
-If a phone is left on and is either being used by the student or rings, beeps, vibrates, etc. during school hours, the phone will be taken away and returned to the student at the end of the school day.
-If the student is found to be using the phone a second time during school hours, the phone will be confiscated and turned in to the office. A parent must then come to the office to pick it up.
-If you need to contact your child during the school day, call the school office at 739-5960 and they will either take a message or send the call to the classroom. If your child needs to contact you, they will be allowed to call from the classroom.
**Since your child will need to use a "land line" while at school, I would greatly appreciate it if you would show your child how to dial a phone number with an area code other than 951 by dialing 1 first, as well as a phone number that is in the 951 area code. You would be surprised how many children do not know how to do this! :)**
PLEASE REMIND YOUR CHILD TO TURN THE CELL PHONE OFF WHEN THEY ARRIVE AT SCHOOL IN ORDER TO PREVENT IT FROM BEING CONFISCATED.
