We are continuing our district assessments this week. Please encourage your child to do their best to show off what we have learned this year.

Students should be able to spell our “no excuse” words correctly every time without prompting. Please be sure to review them with your child at home. The words we have learned are listed at the bottom of this newsletter.

In math, we will be working on 3-D shapes. Students need to know the attributes of shapes, such as sphere, rectangular prism, cube, cone, and cylinder. Defining attributes include the number of sides and corners.

Mark the date! First grade will be having an end of the year performance on the morning of Wednesday, May 25. We are asking that students wear red, white, and blue or any combination of those 3 colors for our patriotic performance. Feel free to elaborate on the patriotic theme with accessories, such as hats, glasses, tattoos, face paint, hair ties, etc. (Note – please do not send anything that would require your child to hold. All pieces must be worn on their body.) Please choose one performance to attend – either 10:15 or 11:15. We hope to see you there!

Please be sure to return your child’s library book on time! Remember to visit the Corona Public Library during the summer to continue your daily readingJ
