Students in eighth grade social studies will study the ideas, issues, and events from the framing of the constitution of the United States up to World War I. 
 
Students will trace the development of American politics, society, culture, and economy, and how these topics are affected by the different geographic regions in which people of our coutry live. 
 
They will learn about the challenges facing the new nation, with special emphasis on the causes, course, and consequences of the Civil War.  They will also investigate the rise of industrialization and contemporary social and economic conditions.
