**Updated for the 2013-2014 school year**

Corona Fundamental Intermediate School is a district-wide year-round magnet school which offers a fundamental educational program. Due to high demand, the District has established the following priorities for enrollment (these priorities do not pertain to late or waiting list applicants):
-Students living within the old Corona Jr. High school boundary.
-Students of CFIS employees.
-Students who will have an 8th grade sibling also attending CFIS for 2014-2015 school year (First priority determined by Track of 8th grade sibling to ensure family solidarity.)
-Bargaining unit members with children at a school with a year-round schedule will have priority in placing their children
on the same track as their teaching assignment. (CNUSD bargaining unit contract; this is not a priority for placement at CFIS.)

-Sixth grade students currently enrolled at Lincoln Alternative Elementary School (CFIS acceptance only - No track priority!)

- All other students.
Any student living within the Corona-Norco Unified School District may request enrollment at CFIS. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from school. School hours are 8:00 a.m.-2:34 p.m.
Complete the interest card  and bring it to the CFIS school office. Interest cards are being mailed. If you do not receive one, you may pick an interest card up from the CFIS front office after October 31st. If you did not receive an interest card, please make sure to bring a current utility bill with you for proof of address. Please bring in your completed interest card. Completed interest cards that are mailed in will not be accepted.
Deadline: Thursday, January 16, 2014, by 3:30 p.m.

Note: Pertussis (Whopping Cough) Vaccination Required. Please submit updated vaccination record to your current Elementary school.
Note: The 7th grade lottery will occur for admission to CFIS on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Library. A second lottery will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for track placement. A third lottery for track change requests will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 10:00a.m. in the Library.
Note: If you are applying for IB and you did not attend our school district in 2012-2013, you must bring in your last report card and your 2013 CST results. We will obtain the grades and CST scores for those who were in our district last year.
Note: IB is a one-year commitement that follows the A-track schedule - Track changes are not permitted during the school year. IBMYP Selection Criteria: Students are required to have A or B letter grades and Outstanding (O) or Satisfactory (S) citizenship marks on most current 6th grade report card. Students must also have CST scores, in both mathematics and language arts, in the advanced or proficient levels on their most current assessment results.
Note: Special Education Resource Program on Tracks B and C only.

The card must be turned in to the CFIS OFFICE by Thursday, January 16, 2014 no later than 3:30 p.m. Forms received after this date will be added to the late list and students will be placed when space becomes available. CARDS MAILED WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
