River Heights Exploratory Program, 'Our Students, One Step Ahead'

Many parents ask what is the difference between an exploratory and elective class.  An exploratory class is for students to 'explore' an area they may not have tried before.  An elective is a specific class they have chosen, like in high school.  River Heights staff believe students should be given the opportunity to explore different academic areas so students have an opportunity to see if that area is one of interest to them.  This can often help them determine what elective/s in high school they would like to take.  Students at River Heights such as Band, Choir, Student News, Art, Yearbook, Geography, & Fitness.  There are also a wide variety of exploratory classes students are assigned to such as Life Management, Computer Applications,  and Career Technology.
