Welcome to the Lee V. Pollard High School Website, and thank you for visiting. You are certain to enjoy the excellent work published here by our outstanding Web Design Team.
When chatting with the students, I often ask, "So what is different about our school?" The most common response is, "The teachers and staff. Everyone here seems to care, and they are so helpful." I know that they include the entire instructional staff, the security team, the custodial crew, and the office staff.
Importantly, this also includes our students.
Many of our students have traveled a rough road to arrive here. We accept applications from those who are behind in credits, who work to support their families, who have made poor choices, but are now rededicated to finding success. We are here to help.
As I walk the halls, visit classrooms and see for myself the positive rapport among the students and between the staff and students, I am reminded of a few lines of poetry by Emily Dickenson.
I hear these words in my mind as I see the kindness on our campus:
"If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
or cool one pain,
or help one fainting robin
unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain."
Michael Ridgway, Principal
