SUMMER WORKOUT SCHEDULES

All athletes must complete and turn in a new Athletic Clearance Packet for the 2015-2016 schoolyear in order to be cleared to participate in a sport. Packets may be picked up in the Athletics Office. Please turn your athletic packet in by June 1st.

 

Coaches cannot accept your packet. They must be turned into the Athletics Office where you will be given a receipt to show to your coach so they know you are ok to try out and/or practice. You will be turned away from practices/ tryouts, etc., by your coach, and not be allowed to participate without this receipt.
 
 
Our office hours are 7:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. (closed from 12:55 P.M. - 1:55 P.M. for lunch) until June 9, 2015. Our office is closed after June 9, so you will need to call before coming to our office to see if an Administrator will be available when you come in to turn in your packet.
 
 
Athletic physicals will be held in the Boys’ Locker Room in May (date TBA) from 3:00 - 4:30 P.M. Bring your completed packet and $25.00 cash to get your physical completed.
 
 

Baseball

· Description: Freshmen camp (Opened to all incoming 9th graders)

· Dates: June 22nd, 23rd and possibly the 24th

· Times: 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.

· Where: Varsity Baseball Field

· Fee: $25.00

Boys’ Basketball

· Description: Returning players or new upperclassmen (grades 10-12): Summer league and practice

· Description: Incoming 9th graders: Summer league and practice

· Dates: June 2nd – July 9th (Practice and Tournament Schedule TBA)

· Youth Camp: Grades 5-8 on May 15th and May 16th. Information can be found on the Boys’ Basketball link

Girls’ Basketball

· Description: Summer league and/or practices for incoming ninth graders and returning high school students in the basketball program

· Dates and times: JV and Varsity – Starts June 4th for all levels from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. for a kick off. Practices will then be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, JV will meet from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Varsity will meet from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Football Conditioning & Weight Lifting (JV and Varsity)

· Description: Returning Athletes Program includes passing league and conditioning activities

· Weights: 2:00 – 4:00 P.M.

· Practice: 4:00 – 6:00 P.M.

· Dates: June 8th – July 31st

Football Conditioning & Weight Lifting (Freshmen)

· Dead Period: Weights/Conditioning, not mandatory, but highly recommended (this is the time to plan your vacations), June 8th – June 26th, Mondays – Thursdays, 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.

· Summer Practice: Weights/Practice, this is mandatory, June 29th – July 31st, Mondays – Thursdays, 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. You will have July 2nd – 5th off.

· Where: Lower weight room

· What to bring: All players need to bring shoes and cleats to every practice

· What to wear: Players should wear white, blue or gray t-shirts and shorts until spirit pack gear is available

Boys’ Tennis

· Information: Participate in USTA league, local tournaments or private lessons (Coach Altuna, Jason James, Roger Auld, just to name a few). STAY/GET IN SHAPE – jog 5 miles a week, do light weightlifting, sit – ups/crunches, core strengthening, etc. You may also participate in the: 1. Corona Youth Tennis League for all levels of players, 2. Clinics and/or Team Tennis Leagues at the Andulka Park, Canyon Crest Country Club, Victoria Country Club (all in Riverside) or other venues, 3. Play in two or more tournaments. Players are encouraged to participate in UTSA junior team tennis. All players hoping to be a part of the varsity squad need to have fulfilled the above in order to be considered for an immediate spot on varsity.

· Tryouts: Early tryouts for all NEW players only will be from 3:00 – 4:30 P.M., beginning in January (immediately following Winter Break) on the NHS tennis courts. Bring water with you. You must be cleared through the Athletics Office before coming to the tryouts in January 2016.

More information will be given out on August 3rd and 4th.) Bring water with you. You must be cleared through the Athletics Office before coming to the tryouts in August 2015.
