Technology and Learning
Using iPads as a learning tool is central to our English/Language Arts teaching staff. Students complete assignments using their iPads in class, submit them to the teacher electronically and then receive the corrected work back via their Edmoto accounts.
Language arts is key to learning. Our focus on Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing prepares students to be successful in high school and beyond. Understanding spoken and written language, communicating clearly with others, and communicating through written language are the focus of learning at Ramirez Intermediate.
Reading novels is an instrumental part of our learning program. In 7th grade, students read Call of the Wild by Jack London. In 8th grade, students read The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. In preparation, students are encouraged to read other works written by the authors London and Hinton to familiarize themselves with their literary style over summer break.
