Message from the Principal

Mustang Family

The second semester of the 2012-2013 school year is well underway.  I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our website and we hope that you find the information you are looking for.

As principal of Eleanor Roosevelt High School, I am honored to be able to work with an amazing staff and community. Being a part of this school is both personally and professionally satisfying and invigorating. I am pleased with the progress our school has made and I am excited about the opportunities that lay ahead.

In late April, our school will participate in a WASC accreditation process.  It will be our focus to utilize this visit as part of our continual improvement process that examines our program's strengths as well as areas in which we can improve to better serve our students.  Over the last three years, our school has made great progress in the areas recommended by our last WASC visiting committee, and it is our hope that we can utilize this process again to help reinforce our school's action plan for the next three years.

We have many things to be proud of at Eleanor Roosevelt High School and I would like to take a moment to speak to you briefly about some of the success we have recently experienced.

Last year, our school gained 17 points on our Academic Performance Index (API), and our new API score is 812! Our students have also demonstrated great progress on the California High School Exit Exam, PSAT, SAT, and Advanced Placement tests.

These accomplishments have helped us increase the percentage of our students that are enrolling in honors and Advanced Placement coursework and have also helped us increase the number of students who meet the challenging UC/CSU college entrance requirements.

We are honored that our school was recently recognized as a Riverside County High School Model of Excellence for our English language learner program. We are proud that our counseling program was one of three programs in the county that achieved notoriety for their work on the Support Personnel Accountability Report Card. We are pleased that Eleanor Roosevelt High School was highlighted by the American Association of School Administrators for its efforts in making more students college ready.  All of these accomplishments could not have been achieved without the hard work of a dedicated staff, committed student body, and a supportive community.

Eleanor Roosevelt High School is an amazing high school that has much to be proud of. Our staff is dedicated to maximizing the academic success and personal growth of each of our students and I am confident that we have the right people, resources, and resolve to continue to do just that. At ERHS, our aim is to prepare each of our students for post-high school success by providing them with a solid academic foundation that will enable them to pursue any post-secondary endeavor they choose.

As we continue working together, I am confident that your student’s academic needs will be met. I would like to thank you for your continued support and, if there is anything else that we can do to assist you, please contact our office.

Thank you,

Mark LeNoir
