Lincoln Alternative School is the only magnet elementary school in the Corona-Norco Unified School District. The school is designated for parents and students who desire an environment of academic challenge and environmental structure. These areas are combined under the school's High Expectations Program.
Students are expected to do their best with parent support. Our school-wide virtues of respect, honor, and effort tie directly to this. Students are to respect staff, each other, and themselves. They are to honor themselves, their parents, and the school by being their best. They are to give their best effort as it is essential to their success which is what we all desire.
Parents who enroll their child at Lincoln Alternative School are fully aware of the characteristics of the school. Parents know they are seen as active partners working hand-in-hand with their child. It may be challenging at times, but with it can come greater success and feelings of accomplishment.
The High Expectations Program includes recognition of students' accomplishments by their teachers and the school. But, as stated previously, students are expected to do their best with parent support. Therefore, the staff team will consistently contact parents of students who are not performing academically or behaviorally. This contact comes in the form of telephone calls, meetings, notices and letters sent home, and home visits. We want students to succeed and know parent involvement is critical; therefore, we are persistent.
Lincoln Alternative School takes pride in being the only magnet elementary school in the school district. We also take pride in our pursuit of students' learning.
