PTA welcomes you to Ben Franklin!
We are excited and prepared for another great year! We are proud to have a strong PTA and encourage parent involvement at all levels. Our Executive Board positions have been filled, but we are in need of someone to coordinate our Reflections Program as well as someone to chair our Memory Book this year. In addition, we are always looking for helpers with Book Fairs, Fall Fundraiser, Student Store and other initiatives throughout the year. We would love to have your help!! It is great parents like you that not only strengthen our PTA, but make Ben Franklin Elementary a stellar school.
This year, we will once again hold one major fundraiser with West Coast Fundraising. In the past few years this fundraiser alone had generated $20,000 or more in proceeds. This allows PTA to fund great academic programs like Study Island and Accelerated Reader as well as being able to provide great assemblies, family fun nights and the Art Master’s program annually. Additionally, we have funded needed supplies for the classrooms, the Principals Birthday Book program and 6th Grade Promotion. We have also funded playground equipment and the shade structure that was replaced in 2011-2012. We will be continuing to collect Box Tops this year with all proceeds going directly to the classrooms for needed supplies. We appreciate your continued support and participation of our annual fundraising efforts!
PTA has a full schedule of events and programs planned again for this school year. We will host several family fun nights, 2 Scholastic Book Fairs, several assemblies, Teacher & Staff Appreciation Day and Red Ribbon Week. Last year we had our first ever Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance. This was an overwhelming success and we will be continuing that tradition this year! We will also partner again with The Settlement House in Corona by hosting 2 canned food drives throughout the year.
We look forward to another rewarding year. You can best support your PTA by becoming a PTA member during our annual membership drive, participating in our fundraisers, attending family events and by volunteering your time to help with our initiatives.
