Counselors will be visiting classes to review the course selection process, distribute handouts, and answer students’ questions.
As an effort to go green and to provide students with a college-like experience, NHS is launching the online course selection process for the 2014-15 school-year. Because this requires a significant amount of monitoring to ensure everyone has the most optical experience, we are requiring all students to register using the hard copy Course Selection sheet and online.
Bring with you when your class visits the Counseling Dept. (February through March)
Refer to the hard copy of the Course Selection sheet given to students during counselor presentations in January. Obtain additional copies on the NHS website or in the counseling office.
Online Window : February 3 – 9, 2014 (NOW CLOSED)
We've added photos for Step One (click here to download new handout) on the "Online Instructions." Access through the Student Connect account. Forms were given to students during counselor presentations in January or click the link above to download. Obtain hard copies in the NHS counseling office or library.
Did you miss the online window? Don't worry - students are meeting with their counselors starting this month to ensure their classes are selected accurately and appropriately for next year (counselors also have the access to over-ride any online selections made should there be a course students couldn't add or if they made an error with their selection).
Starting February 11, 2014
Counselors will meet with students as their classes are brought into the counseling department through the month of February. Counselors will review the students’ online course selections while cross-referencing with their hard copy and their previous years’ course performance to ensure the 2014-15 course selections areaccurate. Counselors will also visit with students regarding summer school options for those who qualify.
The Registrar's Office will be distributing registration packets to all returning students before the last day of school through their Language Arts classes. Because we are a green school, we will not be mailing any information home. Additional packets may be picked up during regular business hours throughout the summer (click here to view Registrar's office hours - summer hours will be updated in May).
Typically the week prior to the first day of school
Students will come to school on their assigned day to turn in all required forms to complete the student registration process. Students will pick up their schedules and counselors will be available to answer questions and make changes as needed.
