Principal's Message

Mr. PataneDear Susan B. Anthony Families and Staff,

It is a tremendous honor to be named principal of Susan B. Anthony Elementary School.  I am grateful to the District and members of the School Board for trusting me with the responsibilities of leading such a distinguished school.  Under the leadership of Dr. Mellilo and Mrs. Gruebel, this school community has set out on a journey of excellence, establishing high expectations, standards, and an effective way of work.  It is my goal to continue that journey that allows our children to excel as responsible, respectful, successful students and citizens.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some of my background.  I have 13 years of experience in education.  I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades for eight years in San Diego and Murrieta before moving to Corona-Norco Unified School District.  I spent two years as the Assistant Principal at Washington Elementary School, a year as Assistant Principal at Todd Elementary School, and two years at Wilson Elementary as their Assistant Principal.  I feel I have had a successful professional career over these many years, and hope to continue in that way for many more.

Personally, I have been married for 11 years, and I am the proud father of two wonderful children.  My son is in the 4th grade, and my daughter is in the 2nd grade.  We’ve lived in Murrieta for the past nine years.

There are not enough words to convey to you how excited I am about being a part of the SBA family.  I want to commit to you that I will do all that I can to provide the leadership that will continue to put our students first and secure a safe, positive, challenging, and inviting learning environment.  It is important to me that you feel free to share your ideas, concerns, and thoughts openly with me….my door is always open.   We are a team, working on behalf of our children.

I look forward to meeting you in the near future and beginning a successful year together.

Sincerely,

Tom Patane, Principal
