Toys and Electronics:
Toys, iPods, or any other electronic games or devices are not allowed at Highland. These items are valuable, easily broken or stolen, and can be disruptive to the classroom. If found they are subject to confiscation.
Cell phones and other electronic signaling devices may not be activated (turned on) inside any classroom. Devices can be used outside so long as it is a solo activity (student is alone and away from others) and the screen is not being shown to others. Students are advised to step away from other students so they are alone when using the device. Devices activated during class time or used with other students with 50 feet will have their devices confiscated and must be picked up by a parent. Cell phones are not to be used for social media or video/photographic purposes on campus at any time. Failure to follow the established guidelines will result in consequences including confiscation, restricted recesses, detention and/or suspension.
