Student Parking Permits
Who can purchase parking permits?
Parking permits are only available to 11th and 12th grade students who hold a valid driver's license.
What documentation must be presented at the time of purchasing a parking permit?
- Current NHS student ID card
- Valid California driver's license
- Proof of insurance
- Car registration
- NHS Parking Permit Form (available at the ASB/Activities Office) - this form must be signed by the student's parent/guardian (even if the student is 18 years old or older)
- The vehicle for the main parking permit must be on campus at the time of purchasing the permit
When can permits be purchased? Parking permits are on sale during 11th and 12th grade fall registration and throughout the entire school year in the ASB/Activities Office.
How parking permits are placed on a vehicle if purchased during registration or on the first day of school:
To avoid long lines, students are allowed 2 free days to park in NHS's school campus parking lot without requiring a pass. During these 2 days, ASB will use the information provided on the student's order form to locate the student's car and place the parking permit on the student's vehicle.
How much do parking permits cost?
1st Parking Permit - $20.00 with a purchased ASB card; $25.00 without a purchased ASB card
Additional Parking Permits (replacements and/or for additional vehicles) - $5
How to purchase a Preferred Parking Space:
Reserve your private parking space (a numbered parking space that is reserved just for you) for only $50.00 with a valid ASB card or $55.00 without.
What happens if a student parks on campus during school hours and doesn't have a parking permit?
Administration and Security routinely walk through the parking lots to check for permits. Any cars found without permits may be served a reminder. Repeat offenders will be reported to the student's administrator for possible disciplinary action.
