The 100 Mile Club® Mission Statement
The 100 Mile Club® provides the opportunity to run or walk 100 miles at school during a single school year which improves school readiness to learn, creates better education outcomes, building self-esteem and the overall health in the lives of children and others.Inspired by the 1992 Olympics, special education teacher Kara Lubin used the dream of becoming a gold medalist to inspire her hard-to-motivate students. That year, The 100 Mile Club® was born from a simple idea, run 100 miles and earn a gold medal. With incentives given along the way, including our unique milestone t-shirt, lessons in goal-setting, determination, and team spirit are delivered alongside exercise.
The 100 Mile Club® is a personal journey toward a very personal goal.
It is not a race with anyone but yourself. For more information about 100 Mile Club, you can go to their web page at http://100mileclub.com/ .
