Dear Coronita Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my excitement about my appointment as the new principal at Coronita Elementary School. Coronita has a reputation of excellence. I feel fortunate to be joining a school culture focused on student learning, a commitment to high expectations, innovation and collaboration. It is my intent to continue to carry out these important traditions and practices. I would like to build on the same reputation here at Coronita and invite you to help us determine what is best for your child by attending monthly morning coffees, parent conferences and academic events.
I would like to share some information about my educational background and professional experience. I graduated from University of Oregon with a degree in Elementary Education. I was an elementary school teacher for 11 years, working with students who had similar backgrounds as the students at Coronita. For three years I was a Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA). I worked with teachers and students with technology, reading and math. After teaching for many years, I decided to move into Administration, and completed my Masters at Portland State University. For the last four years, I have been an Assistant Principal at Corona Ranch Elementary, and the two previous years, I was the Assistant Principal at Home Gardens. I have been well prepared to be a principal, and am enthusiastic about being atCoronita.
I look forward to being apart of a warm and caring school environment and working together with each of you this year. Please feel free to call or stop by for a visit. If you have questions or concerns, pleased do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
