AVID is an elective class offered to students who would like to prepare for four-year universities. The curriculum features study skills through the use of writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading strategies and college/career/motivational activities. College students are in the classroom as tutors and field trips are taken to universities. Students must commit to taking notes in subject area classes on a daily basis. Congratulations to Ms. Jessica Johnson for being chosen by her fellow staff members as the 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year! Ms. Johnson is an astounding 7th grade Life Science Teacher and Co-Advisor for El Cerrito's National Junior Honor Society. She is also just straight up super awesome!
Harvey Mudd College is offering a free homework hotline website. The Hotline is open to any student grades 4-12 who need assistance in science and mathematics. Calls are free! Students will talk to a live person available Monday - Thursday from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
