    • Parent Drug Prevention Awareness Presentation: On Tuesday, December 4 at 6:00 p.m. in our school library, PTSA will be hosting a presentation regarding alcohol, tobacco, and substance abuse awareness.  The presentation covers tobacco, alcohol, inhalants, marijuana, prescription drugs, ecstasy, heroin, drug trends and some recent legislation regarding these and other substances.  The presentation will cover the basics of what the substances are, how they affect the body, and how to detect if someone is using drugs.  Also included will be videos going into more detail about the substances.  Please join us for an informational night as we work together on keeping our kids drug free and aware of the dangers of drugs.
    • Winter Formal “Snow Ball”: ASB will be hosting our annual Winter Formal Dance this Saturday, Dec. 1 from 7pm to 11pm.  Tickets are on sale for $40.00 with a CHS ASB card, or $45.00 without.  The dance will feature a fabulous DJ, a lounge area, a complimentary chocolate fountain, and beverage station.  This year’s dance will be on campus in the Panther Gymnasium.  I look forward to seeing your student at our Winter Formal!
    • Voice of Democracy Essay Contest: Congratulations to Kristy Drutman and Christopher Morales for placing 3rd and 4th place, respectively, in the Riverside County Voice of Democracy taped essay contest.  These two students competed against 325 other students and successfully communicated their views on why the Constitutions is still relevant today.  Thanks goes to Ms. Viki Phillips for coordinating this event on campus, and for Mr. Chris Peterson who provided technical/video support.
    • BIG VIII Fall Sports All-Academic First Team: Congratulations to the following Panther scholar-athletes on their selection for this prestigious honor.  These scholar-athletes were selected based on their participation in Varsity level sports, and their high academic achievement.  I applaud these students for their fine work and dedication to their success in and outside of the classroom.
