CAC (California Association of Collectors), Criteria: fill out a one page Application, write a 700-1000 word essay on: "The Importance of Establishing and Maintaining Good Financial Credit During Your College Years." Please see application for additional information. http://www.cacesf.org Career Center deadline: January 16, 2011 KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program – must have a minimum GPA of 2.75, enroll in a public college or university within their state of legal residence, and pursue a Bachelor’s Degree, be a US citizen or permanent resident, and demonstrate financial need, accepting online applications only from Dec. 1, 2011 to Feb. 8, 2012 at www.kfcscholars.org Elks National Foundation – must be a senior who is a US citizen, males and females compete separately for identical awards, must complete an application, write an essay of no more than 500 words, official transcripts, SAT/ACT scores taken before Nov. 15, 2011 and counselor report. Weber Scholarship for Dependent Children – must be claimed as dependent status on current IRS form, child of an active/retired/deceased California Teachers Association member, submit an application, official transcripts, and minimum GPA of 2.0. CTA Scholarship for Dependent Children – must be claimed as dependent status on current IRS form, child of an active/retired/or deceased California Teachers Association member, submit an application, official transcripts, and a GPA should reflect a high unweighted average, college coursework should reflect high academic achievement-explain any unique circumstance related to affected grades. CTA Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund – a dependent child of an active/retired/or deceased member or active member of Student CTA (SCTA), reside in California, either African American/Black, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian/Pacific Islander, or Hispanic, pursuing a college degree or certification for teaching-related career in public education, submit an application, and submit one letter of recommendation. Deadline February 24, 2012. Application can be found on CTA website www.cta.org or with Mrs. Davis in room D-102. CTA Cesar E. Chavez Memorial Education Awards Program – student and CTA member must be employed at the same school or campus where the student is enrolled, essay with between 800-1100 words, art project.
