The Local Education Agency Plan
As Corona-Norco Unified School District receives federal funding under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) program, it is required to maintain a Local Education Agency (LEA) Plan. The LEA plan describes the actions that our district will take to ensure that our district meets certain programmatic requirements including coordination of services, needs assessments, consultations, school choice, supplemental services, services to homeless students along with other requirements as stipulated by law. The LEA plan also includes specific descriptions and assurances as outlined in the provisions included in NCLB. The LEA plan must be reviewed and revised, if necessary, on an annual basis.
The California Board of Education (SBE) has adopted five performance goals upon which the Plan is written. These goals are:
Goal 1: All students will reach high standards, at a minimum, attaining proficiency or better in reading and mathematics, by 2013-2014.
Goal 2: All limited-English-proficient students will become proficient in English and reach high academic standards, at a minimum attaining proficiency or better in reading/language arts and mathematics.
Goal 3: By 2005-2006 all students will be taught by highly qualified teachers.
Goal 4: All students will be educated in learning environments that are safe, drug-free, and conducive to learning.
Goal 5: All students will graduate from high school.
