On March 18, 2015 McKinley Elementary held its first Leadership Day! The day began with a warm welcome from students greeting guests with a handshake as they walked through the front gates. Students performed the 7 Habits song, followed by students’ speeches about the 7 habits and the Leader in Me Process. Guests were then invited to tour classrooms and see students and staff in action.
With the integration of ‘The Leader in Me’ program to its existing curriculum, students at McKinley Elementary learn the 7 Habits and the Leader in Me Process. The 7 Habits are: Be Proactive, Begin With the End in Mind, Put First Thing First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw. These 7 Habits build students into leaders, and increase academic performance.
McKinley Elementary is actively living its Mission Statement to Empower Leaders to Believe, Achieve and Leave a Legacy!
