Santiago Dress Code Policy

 

The following minimum standards shall be enforced at Santiago High School in order to meet the requirements of the California Administrative Code regarding grooming, dress, and appearance and the Education Code regarding free expression: Any clothing, makeup, hairstyle or wig that has been demonstrated to contribute to the substantial disruption of the orderly operation of the school is inappropriate/unacceptable for school attire.

 

The following items of clothing are considered inappropriate/unacceptable for school attire:

·        Skirts and shorts not worn at an appropriate/acceptable length (No undergarments or posteriors shall show.)

·        Strapless or tube tops

·        Bare midriffs

·        Undergarments showing

·        Chains or weapons (chains such as those attached to belts or wallets present a safety hazard.)

·        Lack of undergarments

·        Low cut tops

·        Footwear without hard soles

·        Apparel with emblems, printing, etc., that are obscene, libelous, or slanderous, or that incite students as to create a clear and present danger are not permitted on campus and may not be worn.

 

Note: Santiago Administration reserves the right to determine appropriate dress.

 

Consequences:

1st - Warning, call home, change clothes

2nd - Saturday School, call home, change clothes

3rd+ - Administrative Discipline and Parent Conference
