Corona High School’s Academic Decathlon team, advised by Lynette Menter-Hartman, finished in 4th place (out of 19 teams) at a recent Riverside County competition. This is a tremendous accomplishment, and deserving recognition for the hard-work put on by this team. In addition to the 4th place trophy overall, two students- Maddie Nguyen and Naz Chowhury- brought home Gold Medals for the Essay portion of this competition. Way to go! Their effort and preparation was made possible by their fantastic coaches, Ms. Menter, Ms. Beyersdorf, and Ms. Shieh. Their amazing dedication is evidenced in the success of our Decathletes.
Also, thank you to the following staff members who volunteered their time to support this team and the competition: Shane Hertzke, John Hartman, Bryan Hughes, Jay Fresques, Grace Chung, Rhonda Grabow, Graciela Hernandez, Shannon Stone, Alicia Pike-Green, Jamie Davis, Chris Peterson, Brianna Brown, Mark Warren, Kristina Bogner, Micah Council, Nadine Loza, Robin Maffucci, and Karen O’Connor.
As you can see, this victory was a Panther Family effort. Great job everyone!
