Schools get funding in variety of ways and each school must develop an annual plan to determine how the money is distributed, overseen and spent. The group that does this is called the School Site Council (SSC) and its participants are elected to serve on the committee. There must be an equal number of classified and certificated staff to balance with parents and an administrator also serves on the committee. Each year, the committee develops and writes a document called the Single Plan for Student Achievement. The SSC meets a minimum of four times each year.
