You have probably heard your kids talking about Jiji Math. You might wonder what exactly is Jiji Math. Jiji Math is the name the kids call our computer program from the non-profit Mind Research Institute. Spacial Temporal (ST) Math, otherwise known as Jiji Math, is a research based, cutting edge program developed by the Mind Institute which is famous for their research on the "Mozart Effect." Researchers from the non-profit Mind Research Institute did the original study that showed how some forms of classical music boosted brain functions. The Institute has spent years using these and some of their other findings to help students.ST Math has been providing schools all over the country with stunning results. There are two components to the program. One is computer based math lessons that your children will access in the computer lab and the classroom. The game-like structure helps kids stay interested. The program itself helps students visualize what is occuring in our abstract math system. The other part of the program is music.Second and third grade students will actually learn how to play the piano at school. This part of the program will take place in our “piano lab” where we will set up 24 electronic piano keyboards.
