44th Annual CNUSD Jr. Olympics

The 44th Annual CNUSD Jr. Olympics. took place earlier this month after being cancelled for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There were two different meets; a large school division and small school division. Students in 4th-6th grade participated. This year, the Jr. Olympics was expanded to include an exceptional needs section.

"The energy this year was amazing," said Brian Leedy, VanderMolen Principal. "You could tell that parents, coaches, and the community were excited to have this annual event back!"

Roosevelt and their Track and Field team led by Shonna Bernard-Joseph were a huge help and volunteered with assisting kids. Many administrators, teachers, and the Roosevelt track team help make the meet a success.

"It takes a lot of volunteers to make this event happen and I am thankful for that each year," said Brian Leedy.

Students who won 1st - 6th in each event received ribbons. Athletes earn points that are calculated for team standings. The Small School Division Champ was Highland Elementary.  The Large School Division Champ was Ronald Reagan Elementary.

The events are: 800m, 400m, 200m, 100m, 4x100m Relay, 10 person Mixed 50M shuttle relay, Long Jump, Softball Throw, and Soccer Dribble.
