CA Recognizes JFK for Exemplary Dual Enrollment

NORCO - John F. Kennedy Middle College High School has been named a 2026 California Exemplary Dual Enrollment Award recipient, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond announced Monday.

The recognition places Kennedy among just 32 schools statewide honored for outstanding dual enrollment programs that allow high school students to earn college credit while still in high school.

At Kennedy Middle College High School, the program is built through a strong partnership with Norco College, providing students with early access to college courses, career exploration opportunities, and a head start on their higher education journey at no cost.

“It’s my pleasure to recognize these schools for the incredible work they’re doing to support California’s students,” Thurmond said. “By partnering with their communities, they’re opening doors and creating real opportunities for young people.”

Award recipients were selected based on their ability to demonstrate strong collaboration between schools and college partners, equitable access for students, and clear evidence of student success and support systems.

Kennedy’s model reflects these priorities by integrating high school and college coursework, offering structured pathways, and ensuring students receive the guidance needed to succeed in both environments.

Schools recognized with the California Exemplary Dual Enrollment Award will hold the title for two years and serve as models for other districts across the state.

Congratulations Timberwolves, keep up the great work!
