Centennial High School Robotics Earns Top Honors at Global VEX Competition
La Verne, CA – Through precision, problem-solving, and teamwork, Centennial High School Robotics students engineered an impressive showing earlier this month at the VEX V5 Robotics Competition, hosted at Damien High School.
With more than 20,000 teams from 50 countries competing in over 1,700 events globally, the VEX V5 Robotics Competition is the largest and fastest-growing middle school and high school robotics program in the world. Centennial High School was represented by two teams at the event, showcasing the depth of talent and commitment within the program.
One Centennial team earned the prestigious Excellence Award, the competition’s top all-around honor, recognizing excellence in engineering design, teamwork, strategy, and performance. Team members include Karina Montano, Tristan Trang, Rayyan Khalique, Sebastian Gelso, Ethan Zhang, and Dario Nunez.
A second Centennial team also competed with distinction, demonstrating strong collaboration and technical skill. Team members include Trevon Nguyễn, Paul Pham, Ritam Arya, Zaydan Gauhar, Jesus Perez, and Elijah East.
Behind these accomplishments are countless hours of after-school practices, weekends spent designing and refining robots, and a shared passion for learning and innovation. These students exemplify dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence, balancing rigorous coursework with the demands of competitive robotics.
CNUSD is proud of the Centennial High School Robotics teams and the hard work that led them to this success. We wish them the best of luck as they advance to the state finals in February.
