The Corona-Norco Unified School District is celebrating an exciting accomplishment as Academy of Innovation graduate and Corona High School baseball standout Trey Ebel was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft.

A standout student-athlete, Ebel graduated from Academy of Innovation while competing for the Corona High School baseball team, where he established himself as one of the nation's top high school baseball players. Throughout his time as a Panther, he demonstrated the dedication, discipline and work ethic that helped earn him recognition on one of baseball's biggest stages.

During his senior season, Ebel batted .417 with 10 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, 47 RBIs and 14 stolen bases, showcasing his ability to make an impact on both offense and defense. His outstanding performance throughout the season solidified his place among the top prospects eligible for this year's draft.

Ebel's passion for baseball began at an early age. Growing up in a family deeply connected to the sport, he developed his skills through years of hard work and commitment. His father, Dino Ebel, serves as the third-base coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his older brother, Brady Ebel, was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2025 MLB Draft. Trey now begins his own professional journey with the same organization.

Before being drafted, Ebel had committed to continue his baseball career at Texas A&M University, but his first-round selection provides him with the opportunity to begin competing at the professional level.

Trey's achievement is a testament to the countless hours he has invested in his craft and reflects the support of his family, coaches, teammates, teachers and the Academy of Innovation and Corona High School communities. His accomplishment is a proud moment for the Corona-Norco Unified School District and both the Chameleons and Panther communities.
