Four CNUSD middle schools have earned statewide recognition for excellence. Norco Intermediate, Raney Intermediate, Ramirez Intermediate, and Corona Fundamental Intermediate have been named California Schools to Watch.
Superintendent Gadelmawla, alongside district leaders, site administrators, and staff, formally received the award during a recognition event, celebrating the outstanding achievements of these school communities. In addition, the Norco Intermediate Band performed at the California Schools to Watch event.
The California Schools to Watch program is part of a national initiative that honors exceptional middle schools demonstrating academic excellence, innovation, and a strong commitment to student success. The program is coordinated by the California Department of Education in partnership with the California League of Schools and the California Middle Grades Alliance.
Schools recognized through this program meet rigorous criteria that reflect best practices in middle grades education. These include a demonstrated ability to achieve high academic standards through challenging and engaging instructional programs, as well as a commitment to supporting the unique social, emotional, and developmental needs of adolescent learners.
In addition, Schools to Watch are recognized for promoting equity by ensuring all students have access to the resources and opportunities necessary to succeed. Honored schools also exhibit strong leadership, effective organizational structures, and a continuous focus on improvement.
This recognition places Norco Intermediate, Raney Intermediate, Ramirez Intermediate, and Corona Fundamental Intermediate among a select group of schools across California that are leading the way in middle school education. Their achievement reflects the dedication of staff, the support of families, and the hard work of students.
CNUSD congratulates each of these school communities on this outstanding accomplishment and celebrates their continued commitment to excellence in education.
