Eastvale, CA - At Dr. Augustine Ramirez Intermediate School, the Ramirez Rumble is more than a single event, it’s a movement. This innovative, CASEL-aligned day of student empowerment and collaboration has been recognized with the California School Boards Association (CSBA) Golden Bell Award, highlighting the school’s commitment to building meaningful relationships, fostering belonging, and empowering every student to thrive.
Rooted in the five CASEL competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making, the Rumble brings students and staff together through intentional, data-informed activities designed to strengthen connection, empathy, and collaboration. Teachers, counselors, and support staff lead sessions that emphasize respect, teamwork, and positive communication, helping every student feel seen, supported, and valued.
The Ramirez Rumble reflects CNUSD’s continued commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments through the district’s Power Objectives:
Equity & Access: By creating inclusive opportunities where every student feels seen, valued, and connected, the Rumble supports CNUSD’s mission to ensure all learners thrive in safe and welcoming environments.
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS): The program strengthens Tier 1 social-emotional supports by embedding evidence-based SEL strategies throughout the school day, helping students develop the skills they need to build relationships, manage emotions, and make positive choices.
Enhance School Safety Teams: Through activities that promote empathy, respect, and positive communication, the Rumble contributes to a safer, more connected campus culture.
Together, these efforts showcase how CNUSD is prioritizing the whole student, nurturing confident, compassionate learners who are ready to lead both inside and outside the classroom.
Congratulations to the Ramirez team on their Golden Bell Award, and for inspiring us all to champion the power of connection across CNUSD.
