CNUSD 6th Grade Student Victoria Li Crowned Champion of the 47th Annual Riverside County Spelling Bee
Riverside, CA - We’re proud to share that Victoria Li, a sixth-grade student from Philistine Rondo School of Discovery, has been named the champion of the 47th Annual Riverside County Spelling Bee—earning the honor after an incredible 23 rounds of competition.
The event, held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the Riverside County Office of Education Conference Center, brought together 27 of the top student spellers from across the region. With confidence and focus, Victoria held her ground through nearly four hours of spelling, correctly spelling denigratory in round 22 and securing her victory with the word tersanctus—a term meaning a hymn or invocation praising God as the thrice-holy deity.
“I can’t wait to go back to school and show everyone my trophy,” Victoria shared with a big smile after the ceremony.
Victoria will now go on to represent Riverside County and CNUSD at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Maryland this May. We know she’ll do an amazing job and make our entire community proud.
We also want to recognize and congratulate all of the students who participated in this year’s competition. Their preparation, courage, and poise were truly impressive.
Congratulations, Victoria—we’ll be cheering you on in Washington, D.C.!
