Student Scientists Represent CNUSD at ISEF
CNUSD Students Compete on Global Stage at International Science & Engineering Fair
Columbus, OH - Four student scientists from Centennial High School proudly represented the Corona-Norco Unified School District at the 2025 Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF), held May 11–16 in Columbus, Ohio. Joining a peer from Riverside Unified, these students were selected to represent Riverside County in a global competition that brought together the brightest young minds in science, technology, and engineering from 63 countries and regions.
This year’s fair featured 1,657 students and 1,334 research projects, selected from 361 affiliated science fairs around the world. Participants competed for more than $9 million in prizes and scholarships—making ISEF the world’s largest international pre-college science competition.
Our CNUSD ISEF participants included:
-
Rayyan Khalique, Trevon Nguyen, and Dylan Patel (Sophomores, Centennial High School)
Project: “Combining accessibility with Machine Learning: Utilizing Machine Learning to Create a User-Friendly Medical Application to Process and Detect Histopathological Images of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma.”
-
Ava George (Sophomore, Centennial High School)
Project: “A Novel Approach to Fall Prediction and Prevention: Integrating Machine Learning and IoT for Elderly Safety.”
The chance to take part in ISEF 2025 is a standout accomplishment, reflecting the dedication and brilliance of our CNUSD students. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments, innovative thinking, and dedication to solving real-world problems through science and technology.
Congratulations to our CNUSD student scientists!
