In order to meet the needs of all of our students at Orange Elementary School, those students identified as GATE are provided with differentiated instruction. We do our best to cluster our GATE students into classrooms so that teachers can more readily enrich their learning experience. Although the same grade level standards are taught to all students, GATE students are provided with opportunities to go above and beyond, and learn at a deeper level based on their abilities. Students are given opportunities to enrich their learning experience through research, extended reading with peers, and technology along with opportunities to participate in Science Fair, History Day and Math Field Day are also available to our GATE students. The students routinely engage in Thinking Map activities as well as explore different sides of the engagement cube. We also have allocated 6 Fridays where GATE students are given the opportunity for enrichment activities. This year we will be working on coding skills. We will also be utilizing district resources to offer presentations/guest speakers to our GATE students. In the past, we have learned about Robotics, engineering, and programming their own video games.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school principal, Mrs. Kelly Williams, at 951-736-3455.
